Everyone should be adding a little spice back into their BBQ recipes/marinades. I found a simple, flavourful, and colourful tandoori chicken recipe on thefoodiephysician.com. This website is great for finding a variety of recipes that incorporate culture, health, and taste.I have made this recipe three times so far with both chicken and tofu. The first time I made the recipe, I was nervous about it being too spicy for some of the members in my family. So, I reduced the amount of cayenne pepper. Just to be sure, I marinated some other chicken with Italian dressing, so if my family found the tandoori chicken too spicy, they would have another option.  I quickly discovered, everyone in my family much preferred the tandoori recipe, as you can see from this picture below:

The tandoori chicken recipe was more popular with my family!
My family and I enjoyed this recipe for various reasons. First, it’s colour. The variety of spices gave the chicken a bright orange colour which was appealing to the eyes, similar to the way you feel when looking  at your favourite dessert. Second, the variety of spices used in the recipe gave the chicken a complex flavour, making every bite taste different. Third, the Greek yogurt calmed the flavour from the spices, so each bite was pleasant and not overpowering. It’s about balance. . . We all take short cuts sometimes. I ran out of time making other dishes for my family get together, so instead of making cucumber raita from scratch, I purchased one from the grocery store.  When you have the time to make everything from scratch, then do it. When you run out of time, make sure you read the Nutrition Facts Table on the food you are buying to ensure you are picking the best possible product you can.
