French fries are a gift that come unwrapped on your dinner plate. And you don’t need a deep-fryer to make them at home. This is the most impossible to mess up, baked French Fry recipe. Enjoy, and Happy New Year to you and your loved ones!
The Taste:
If you like more than salt on your fries, this recipe is perfect. It contains three strongly flavoured herbs; rosemary, oregano, and thyme. These herbs work together to make these fries taste like they are from a high end restaurant. The recipe calls for four garlic cloves, but I like my fries super garlicky, so I used 6 cloves of garlic and added a bit of garlic powder as well. Its about balance . . .
I always get the question, should I eat carbs at night? My response: Who told you that you can’t? We all need carbs despite what the latest fad diets tell you. I think the bottom line about eating carbs at dinner is not to overdo it. You need enough carbs to feel satisfied and prevent you from late night snacking, which usually involves ice cream, cookies, or popcorn, all of which will increase blood sugar levels making it difficult to sleep. Eating a small amount of carbs at dinner will not lead to gain and it is NOT the reason for weight loss.  Don’t forget to balance your carbs with adequate amounts of protein and veggies!I am wishing all of my followers a Happy and Healthy 2014!
